Visiting the Music of Carousel: Soliloquy

In "Soliloquy," Billy Bigelow delivers a dramatic and introspective monologue in song form. It’s a deep dive into his character’s psyche, revealing his dreams and insecurities as he imagines the future of his unborn child. The song’s emotional intensity and the powerful way it explores themes of fatherhood and personal growth contribute to its lasting impact. It is a popular tour de force and audition piece for many baritones.
