Meet Curtis Tucker, Conductor

Writer's picture: Cathy MarshallCathy Marshall

Now in his eleventh season as General and Artistic Director of First Coast Opera, Curtis Tucker continues to shape the company’s artistic vision. Whether leading from the orchestra pit, directing productions, or even appearing alongside the singers on stage, Tucker’s multifaceted involvement has been a hallmark of his leadership. This season, he will conduct mainstage performances of The Barber of Seville and The Magic Flute.

A native of Kansas City, Tucker previously served as General Director of Opera Saratoga in New York before relocating to Florida. Last season, he produced performances of his original one-act opera, The Stranger’s Tale, in Saint Augustine, Jacksonville, and Mount Dora.
